Home Staging For Buyers
If you are looking at buying a new home in Daytona Beach you may want to avoid homes that have been staged. Staging is when a seller dresses up a home to look much nicer than it actually is. It is an effective psychological tool to make rooms feel bigger, cleaner, more modern, and generally worth more money. As a buyer, a staged home may cost 6-7% more than an unstaged one. For a seller, staging is an effective tool to get the most from their home. How can a buyer tell if a home is staged?
When you go to look at a home you should look at the details to decide whether the home has been staged or not. Staged homes often have very nice, new, furniture. They may also have a fresh coat of paint on the walls, and they may be decorated in a fashionable style. These homes also might have cookies baking in the oven or other good scents. These homes can be very tricky but they can be very noticeable too. Sometimes they might not even try to hide the fact and use cardboard television sets and fake pictures. You might even find the original furniture stuffed into the garage, basement, attic, or another unused room. For a buyer in Daytona Beach, it is best to stay away from staged homes.
Buyers should focus their efforts on homes that have not beed dressed up as they will pay less for the same house than if it were staged. Look for homes that are empty or show real signs of use. It sounds odd but a house with imperfections could save you a lot of money. Even if their are repairs to be made, you can do them yourself and save a chunk of cash.
